Testimonials
We took the Bradley class taught by Susan Gunn, and we loved it. We can't recommend it highly enough. It's a long class (12 weeks) but afterwards we felt super prepared. It prepares you not just for the physical aspects of birth, but also with knowing current medical practices and what type of recommendations doctors are likely to make when during the birthing process. The Bradley method sometimes gets a bad reputation because some people can become overzealous about making sure they have a natural birth. Susan Gunn is a super level headed and pragmatic person, who really teaches the class geared towards helping you weigh all the options, and really just how to make an informed decision about everything. She=B9s really wonderful. And when my pregnancy started to have some complications Susan was checking up on us frequently, and putting us in touch with others who had experienced the same thing, and providing all around support. We were really blown away. After taking the Bradley class we felt so well prepared and informed. We often find ourselves biting our tongues, when friends claim they didn't know a particular thing might happen during birth, because we had learned it in our class.

"My husband and I decided to take a Bradley Class after a very stressful delivery experience with our first child. We had originally wanted a natural birth experience but ended up delivering in the OR about 2 pushes and five minutes away from a C-section. Luckily, that didn't occur. Looking back, we felt that the interventions in our daughter's birth seemed unnecessary and we wanted to be better prepared for the delivery of our second child. The Bradley Method was instrumental in our having a largely unmedicated birth. Not only were the relaxation techniques much more helpful at easing contractions than the breathing techniques of Lamaze, but also the volumes of information that the course teaches you about labor, delivery and all of the types of interventions that can occur were essential. My body is such that my babies seem to want to come out with a posterior presentation. Using the information from the Bradley course, I was able to try different laboring positions to ease the pressure on my back and help my 2nd baby turn and deliver in the normal anterior position - and he was almost an 11 lb baby!!! The time and effort commitment is completely worth it in the end." Jennifer Sypal, Capitol Hill
"During the (pre-Bradley ®) birth of our first child I was a wreck as my wife experienced one intervention after another. Although my wife has never said as much, I'm sure my contribution to the first birth amounted to nothing short of an emotional drain on her. After taking the Bradley class with Susan Gunn, the birth of our second child was a completely different experience. I was an integral part of the process, so much so that after our son was born, our midwife inquired, with a hint of amazement, who our instructor was." Ken Sypal, Capitol Hill
"The relaxation techniques taught in the Bradley class were extremely helpful when it came to working effectively with my body in labor. I also appreciated the great depth of knowledge given about the birth experience. I felt very informed and prepared for this beautiful event in our lives. Finally, the emphasis on the coach's role was very meaningful to my husband and me, making pregnancy and birth a very special shared experince." Julie Kult, Mount Pleasant
"I found the Bradley method course my wife and I took together invaluable and practical in helping me know what to expect as a partner seeking to support her during her labor. It was also a wonderful way for the two of us to learn useful techniques for relaxation and communication that have helped us beyond the birth experience itself. I will definitely continue to recommend Bradley courses to others getting ready to welcome their babies!" Tony Banout, Mount Pleasant
